Rashad Baadqir is a Los Angeles native who grew up in an athletic family, playing multiple sports. Rashad has an older brother who played 11 years in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers. Rashad was a 2-sport athlete (baseball and basketball) in high school and went on to play baseball in college for 2 years. Rashad got involved in softball when his two daughters entered the sport at young ages. Rashad’s love for softball has been shown by his involvement in the game for over 10 years as a fan, dad, coach, and even umpire.

Rashad was formerly the head coach of Sacramento State club softball from 2018-2023, taking his 2022 team to the NCSA College World Series, the first in school history. Rashad is excited to step into his new role as part of the NCSA staff as Pacific Regional Director. Rashad also served as site director for the 2022 and 2023 Pacific Regional Playoffs.

Rashad is an alum of San Jose State. Rashad loves college sports, and his favorite hobbies include traveling, horseback riding, working out at the gym, hiking, and reading. Rashad is a professor in Ethnic Studies at Sacramento State University.
